Due to the independence and flexibility of our own production, it is possible to adjust the wall-thickness of every single PE-pipe in order to achieve low pressure loss and to save energy.
An important factor for successful irrigation is that the hose-reel irrigator is anchored firmly to the ground. Thanks to an extremely flat angle for the machine supports, the power is directly passed into the centre of the machine and is therefore optimally distributed. Therefore hydraulic machine supports are standard on all RAINSTAR E units.
The first layer of the PE pipe is the layer exposed to the highest retraction forces and therefore it is important that no edges or small supporting points damage the PE pipe and eventually reduce its lifespan. To prevent such wear, each reel core of the Rainstar drum is completely closed and equipped with a special pipe guard. The first layer of the PE pipe sits on the drum evenly and without distortion. The pipe is gently guided into the right position for each layer.
The power transmission for the PE pipe retraction over a large dimensioned pipe reel is achieved with high quality chain and precise, laser-cut chain elements. Due to the large diameter of the sprocket and many singular chain links, the retraction power is spread optimally over a large area. By using coated, high-performance chains, a maintenance-free operation and a long lifespan are guaranteed even with high retraction power.
A precise level-wind system is essential for a trouble-free operation. The BAUER level-wind works gently and nearly maintenance-free through a double guided winding mechanism and a precisely driven helically grooved spindle. Especially at high retraction forces and angular PE-pipe retraction, it is important that the guide rails are supported twice in order to absorb the forces and guide the PE-pipe precisely in the right direction.

The radial full-flow economy turbine TVR 60 with the unique VARIO NOZZLE is a power pack and energy saver in one. No matter if small or water saving precipitation rates or high amounts of water need to be dealt with - the TVR 60 turbine convinces with a high degree of efficiency and low pressure losses over the whole range of power.
Even under particularly difficult operating conditions, the turbine still has reserves for operational safety, resulting in enormous cost savings and minimum pressure losses in normal operation.
Maximum use of output is achieved by direct flow from the Vario nozzle onto the impeller. At maximum and minimum nozzle settings, the full stream flows over the turbine's impeller. This way a high efficiency can be achieved with every flow rate with a low loss of pressure.
Highest precision during assembly for maximum efficiency in operation. Every single part of the high-tech turbine is produced in-house. After the assembly each turbine is individually checked at an ultra-modern, fully automatic test bench regarding its performance and quality before the RAINSTAR assembly continues.
The concentrated power of the turbine is transmitted without loss over a V-belt or directly to the robust BAUER 4-speed gearbox. 4 different transmission gear ratios ensure that the turbine operates at cost saving maximum efficiency and thus it is possible to reduce costs.

Especially in the final phase of the irrigation or on uneven terrain, the automatic tilt compensation cares for a consistent position of the sprinkler. The angle of the water jet of the sprinkler remains unchanged and protects the crops from damages by water.
The combi-cart wheel is being lifted and locked automatically via the PE pipe retraction and the special kinematics at the end of the irrigation process. Due to the special construction of the RAINSTAR it is not necessary to take any precautions for the transport - the band brake on the gear fixes the pipe reel and the wheel cart, automatic and absolutely safe.
The combi wheel cart impresses with its infinitely adjustable track width as well as the symmetric and asymmetric PE pipe retraction. The high overhead clearance prevents damages even with high crops. Large dimensioned tires guarantee a safe operation, even in rough terrain or with difficult crops.
Spray booms apply a particularly fine mist, equally protecting the crop and soil structure. Already a low connection pressure is enough for operating a boom. This ensures sustainable use of water and energy resources.

Modern irrigation needs reliable, precise control systems. The irrigation electronics from BAUER are state-of-the-art and enable precise control of precipitation and reliable monitoring of the machine. This guarantees minimal water and energy consumption with maximum efficiency at the same time.
Simple operation at the click of one button is an important factor in the development of new RAINSTAR controls. Through full-time monitoring of chose set-point and actual value of the retraction speed, the crops are precisely irrigated. Programming of pre- and post irrigation can also very easily be done at the click of one button. Our controls work sustainably with a solar panel and a 12 Volt battery to ensure a sufficient power supply. Through the arrangement of 4 magnets there is a permanent measurement even at low retraction speed in order to assure precise regulation of the precipitation.
The integrated shut-off sensor is operationally reliable, protected against accidental operation, mounted under the drive cover and is disengaged mechanically at the end of the strip.
