The MASTER MF3 MP employs a turbine drive mechanism powered by the onboard pump's pressurised output, with the turbine flanged to a reduction gearbox that rewinds the hose reel at controlled speeds. This model is available in six hose diameter options ranging from 100 mm to 140 mm and lengths from 300 m to 630 m, providing operators with scalable configurations suited to large broadacre, forage and row crop irrigation from open water sources.
The MASTER MF3 MP's onboard diesel engine drives a centrifugal pump that draws water directly from an open source—channel, river, dam or bore—and pressurises it at the machine's own inlet. This pressurised flow is then fed into a water turbine flanged to a reduction gearbox, which converts the turbine's rotational energy into the torque required to rewind the hose reel. An adjustable by-pass valve on the turbine circuit diverts a controlled portion of the flow back to the inlet, providing fine speed control during retrieval.
By integrating the pump and engine on the same chassis as the turbine and hose reel, the MASTER MF3 MP eliminates dependence on existing mains or bore infrastructure. Operators can position the unit directly beside any accessible water source, start the engine, and begin irrigation without the need for external pressure sources or fixed pipelines. The turbine-driven rewind mechanism operates with the same reliability as a standard turbine drive irrigator, but is supplied by the onboard pump rather than an external system, ensuring consistent retrieval speeds and single-unit mobility across paddocks or between irrigation sites.
